Our friendly onsite team includes Georgina (Residence Manager), Lauren (Assistant Manager) and Kim (Student Coordinators). The team is based in reception, which is located next to House 1 facing the entrance to the institute. 

Reception Opening Hours and Services

Reception is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.  


Letters and parcels will be kept in reception and can be collected during opening hours. All registered post must be signed for and ID may be required. Please make sure all correspondence is addressed correctly:

Security Details

Out of Hours, please call Noonan Security on 01-8839833. Please note that a €35 call out fee is charged for lockouts. Security carry out nightly patrols but will not access the apartments unless an issue or disturbance has been reported.

In the event of an emergency, please contact the Gardaí on 999. 

The local Garda station is Clontarf Garda Station, 4 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3. Their number is 01-666 4800.

Car Parking

There is free car parking within the campus grounds for students of the Institute and residents. Parking is limited and cannot be reserved. 


Bicycle Storage

There are two storage areas for bicycles, located in front of the residence. Please ensure your bike is locked at all times. 


We have a limited number of hoovers in reception which can be used for a deposit of €5 refunded when you return the hoover. 


The laundry room is located next to reception and can be accessed 24/7 using your keycard. User instructions are on the wall of the laundry room and can also be found in the resident’s handbook.

Room Access



All residents will be issued two with keycards at the beginning of the year. These will allow you to access your bedroom, apartment and the launderette.  

Sample Keycard

Using your keycard:   

  • Slowly insert your keycard into the slot at the top of the door lock 
  • Enter when the door flashes green, the door will automatically lock when it is closed. 
  • Don’t keep your keycard next to your phone ( this may clear the memory).  
  • If you are locked out or need a replacement card contact reception. Single use keycards are free and must be returned, a new keycard costs €20. If you are locked out out of hours you will need to contact security (01 – 8839833), a call out fee of €35 will apply.   
  • If your door flashes red after inserting your card, or if the light continuously flashes, your door lock is running out of battery and you should report this to reception immediately.  
  •  Never keep your door on the deadbolt or propped open. An immediate fine of €100 will be issued.  

Commonly Asked Questions

There are 4 washers and dryers on site. These are coinless machines which involve you creating a account online and topping it up with your bank card. 

Please check with Reception as times change according to autumn, winter and spring.

If you have an issue please come to reception and we will do our best to facilitate you. 

The most convenient way to get to the city centre is to take the 123 bus from right outside campus. 

Yes, all current residents get preference ahead of other applicants.  

You can log the issue via our maintenance app located on the student portal. 

December 1st – you will receive an invoice 30 days in advance. 

Unfortunately, we cannot give out room keys to friends etc. If you would like someone to enter your room when you’re not there, you need to send an email to reception confirming the person’s name and that you give them permission to access the room. 

Yes, reception will be more than happy to issue one. 

Yes, you are allowed the occasional guest, but reception must be notified for fire and safety purposes. 

You can get the 123 bus from right outside the campus gates. 

Many students find it easiest to get Tesco online orders delivered. There is also a small shop – C&T superstore just down the road on Philipsburgh Avenue.
